At IF, we are committed to supporting equity and access for all families. No child should be excluded from an afterschool program due to their family’s inability to pay. During registration there will be an option to request financial assistance. Our Program Director will follow-up by sending you an application. When you complete registration, you will be required to pay a registration fee, but you will not be charged tuition until we determine your eligibility and you accept the offer.

About Our Programs
IF Afterschool programs support the social and emotional wellness of children by providing project-based activities that are active, expressive and creative, in a warm and nurturing environment within their own school building.
Our afterschool programs operate every day after school, from the first Monday that schools are in session in September, through the last Friday that schools are open in June. We provide high quality childcare with a diverse menu of enrichment activities. On the days on which you sign up for our program, we will receive your child directly from their classroom teacher. They will receive a healthy snack, unwind and socialize with friends. They will participate in a specialty class, which you select during registration, led by a professional educator for an hour and fifteen minutes of instructional time. After the class, your child will select from a daily menu of choice time activities including sports, arts, games and homework help, until dismissal.
IF Afterschool is a fully licensed childcare provider with the NYS Department of Health Office of Children and Family Services.

Choice time is different from specialty class time in that the child decides, based on how they feel that day, what activity they want to participate in at the end of the day.
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services has determined that the needs of pre-k aged children are different enough from those of school-age children, that program spaces and services need to be separate and differently articulated.
We will provide a rotating menu of nutritious snacks that will always include fresh fruit.
You can email your afterschool contact with a request to change, if there is room in the class, the change can be made. For any changes to your registration email your afterschool Program Director.
One-time registration fees are non-refundable. If you withdraw before August 15th, we will not be charged any tuition. Once the program begins, if you withdraw before the 15th of any month, you will not be charged for the following month(s). For example, if you want to withdraw your child beginning November 1st, you must let us know by October 15th. If you have paid for the semester in full, we will refund the unused tuition.
All schedule changes requested before the 15th of any month will take effect on the 1st of the following month. If you are paying in monthly installments we will adjust your tuition to reflect the new schedule. If you have paid in full and are reducing the number of days, we will credit you the unused tuition.
Each scheduled speciality activity is available to children in multiple classes. Children enrolled in the afterschool program will interact with children from other school-day classes and grades. We will continue to follow federal and local guidelines and policies relating to social distancing and public health and safety. We will adhere to all policies and procedures required by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Children and Family Services, and the Bureau of Child Care.
If space runs out in one or more of the classes you want, we encourage you to join the waitlist. We make all efforts to move students into the classes that they really want. Waitlisted students will be added to their requested class in the order they were registered. If 12 or more students join a waitlist for a class, we will create a second session of that class to accommodate those students.
You may pick up your child from Afterschool at any time. We ask that, whenever possible, you refrain from picking up your child before 4:30, so that the specialty classes are not disrupted.
We are not allowed to remain in DOE school buildings after the scheduled closing time. It is essential that families pick up their children on time. Late charges of $1 per minute will be billed to families as a preventative measure.
When you register for the program, you will receive and sign most relevant afterschool policies. Once you enroll, you will also receive a family handbook that goes into more detail about program procedures.
